Fiore Industries, Inc. (“Fiore”) is seeking a Security Officer for its subcontract with

Peraton, in managing the security operations at the Goldstone Deep Space Communications

Complex (“GDSCC”), in Ft. Irwin, California. The Security Officer will provide an armed response to the facilities and will also fulfill working level security officer functions. The candidate will be responsible for any one or all of the following:

 Perimeter, access control, and internal security for GDSCC.

 Knowledge of NASA/JPL Security policies and regulations

 Knowledge of protective devices and physical security protective systems (including

inspection and monitoring operations of each system)

 Knowledge of municipal laws and arrest authority

 Able to exercise mature judgment in applying laws and regulations under stressful

conditions

 including any updates or revisions thereof; be able to perform communication console

duties

 Enforce security directives and regulations.

 Prevent, detect and apprehend violators.

 Provide aid and comfort during emergencies.

 Control entry to facility closed and restricted areas.

 Perform traffic control duties.

 Issue parking and traffic citations

 Take appropriate action in event of fire, disorder or emergency threatening life or

property. Provide uniform assistance to the JPL Security Investigations Office

 Assist outside law enforcement agencies while on premises.

 Perform special patrol and/or surveillance duties.

 Investigate accidents and incidents and submit accurate and complete written reports.

 Protect NASA/JPL property, personnel and classified information.

 Conduct inspections of vehicles, briefcases and packages to prevent unauthorized.

Job Requirements

 U.S. Citizenship.

 At least 21 years of age.

 Three (3) to Five (5) years experience in security (armed security, military police or law

enforcement experience preferred).

 Fluency in spoken and written English.

 Pass a drug screening.

 Pass a background check.

 Meet the eligibility requirements for a Public Trust clearance level.

 Able to successfully complete the NASA Federal Law Enforcement training basic academy and periodic refresher courses.

 Successfully complete a physical examination, a mental health evaluation, physical

fitness test and Range qualification.

 Must be able to obtain a valid California Driver’s License.
