Job Purpose:
Security Specialist administers, coordinates, and evaluates security programs that support the strategy, policies, and standards for the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization’s facilities and the security of property and assets. To ensure a safe environment through a team effort of diligent active patrol, strict access control, monitoring surveillance equipment, building inspections, guarding entry points, reporting incidents, and verifying visitors.
SHIFTS: 1st Shift

Responsibilities:
Assist with the development of training, education programs, and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is prepared for potential security issues, crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events.
May coordinate or assist with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials
Respond to alarm calls after business hours
Understand law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures.
The Security Specialist is occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
Covers security posts as needed.
Monitors security systems, reports issues
Ensures that all security events are logged, documented, and reported using standard procedures
Creates and maintains a written training program for new security officers
Assist with investigations and critical event response
Suggest improvements to process
Is a knowledge resource of other team members
General security duties
Other duties as assigned.
