Exostar is currently seeking a hardworking, bright, and energetic undergraduate student to join our 2024 Summer Internship Program and be a part of our Global HR Team. We are seeking a student who is interested in a career in Human Resources. The internship program is a combination of learning activities, and project work designed to give broad exposure to the inner workings of the Huan Resources department within our organization.

Overview of Internship Program:

The summer program offers a ten-week paid, internship opportunity at the Exostar office in Herndon, Virginia. The Intern will need to be available to work up to 40 hours per week and be able to be onsite at our Herndon office 2 – 3 days a week.

The nature of the work will vary, allowing opportunity to exercise customization and creativity, while providing a practical and challenging business experience to include:

• Working closely with our Intern Program Lead in reviewing, updating, and assisting in the creation and/or improvement of HR processes and programs - planning and organizing deliverables and providing regular updates on progress, successes, and challenges
• Collaborating with the global HR Team on developing and executing various initiatives/projects to include Engagement/Wellness activities
• Understanding and executing the full employee life cycle –
  • Recruiting Process/ EE Onboarding/ EE Offboarding
• Networking and learning from/meeting with Executives and/or Senior Leadership
• Facilitating and attending monthly HR Team Meetings
• Assisting with the Summer Internship Program
• Conducting Trusted Role reference checks and Employment Verifications
• Collaborating with other interns to gain exposure to other departments and cross-functional projects

Qualifications:

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with an accredited University.
• Preferred candidates will be currently enrolled in a related Bachelor's program and is either a Junior or Senior.
• Minimum 3.0 grade point average.
• Computer literacy; proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrates work ethic, goal-oriented, and past history of academic success.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinker, leader, team player, and self-managed learner.
