POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for developing estimates with an appropriate level of supervision. Development of estimates will be required for the following activities: new bid estimates (labor and material), pricing, change proposal estimates, both SWBS and trade based estimating, return cost analysis at both a high level (ship) and a low level (work center), ROIs, convincing and validated basis of estimate (BOE), risk mitigation, productivity metrics for estimate development, estimating parametrics, maintenance of historical files, higher level metrics to validate estimates, make/buy studies, and budget rate development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Be able to develop an estimate with guidance.
  • Ensure that an estimate is current, complete, accurate, and is developed in a timely manner.
  • Be able to mitigate risk.
  • Be able to review an estimate with a group member.
  • Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
