Financial Statement Services Inc is Hiring a Production Designer Near Santa Ana, CA

Description

Opening its doors over 40 years ago, FSSI is one of the largest woman-owned providers of document services in the western United States, specializing in highly-customizable print and mail, electronic delivery, marketing and compliance solutions. As a vibrant, growing organization, FSSI is looking to expand our team.

We are currently looking for a Production Designer to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. This position designs, redesigns, and color manages client documents that meet strategic, brand, and production requirements. In addition to print and digital documents, the Production Designer will create and update client emails and basic HTML documents. Our ideal candidate exhibits strong time management and prioritization skills and thrives in a highly-collaborative and fast-paced team environment.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop creative solutions and designs from concept ideation to production under tight schedules.
  • Design, redesign and create client documents such as statements, bills, invoices and letters for clients in Adobe software.
  • Assist with client email and HTML design and updates.
  • Create and design statement and letter templates in MS Word.
  • Design, create and maintain financial industry-based samples for the sample library.
  • Assist with the management of the team’s production queue.
  • Facilitate peer reviews and delegate production tasks to Team Members when assistance is needed to meet production deadlines.
  • Support Digital Print department by creating and maintaining production eForms, including managing version control, file naming conventions, and file routing in accordance with FSSI production standards.
  • Perform all color management duties across digital inkjet devices and paper.
  • Confer with and advise internal teams and clients on design, inkjet best practices and color management. 
  • Support Marketing Communications with creative design and development of print and digital marketing assets to be used in multichannel campaigns.
  • Analyze and deliver clear and concise feedback to improve the quality of print and digital assets/deliverables.
  • Support on-going graphics production with clear and consistent documentation.
  • Provide estimates, record daily tasks and hours, and provide task updates in internal project management system.
  • Work with the IT Project Coordination and Client Services teams to understand project deliverables and timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Adobe design programs including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat DC.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office commonly importing and placing print-ready graphics, and exporting for print.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in color management including color theory, color spaces, color conversion, and device dependency. ie; sRGB, RGB, PMS, CMYK, Lab, etc.
  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge in HTML.
  • Proficiency in organization and naming conventions.
  • Strong understanding of document strategy and problem solving through creative design.
  • Marketing-minded with understanding of brand and design systems, composition, and color, with a keen eye for typography, photography, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must maintain consistent responsiveness, effectively prioritize and execute tasks, and handle a range of projects simultaneously within a dynamic environment.
  • Effectively receive constructive criticism and implement creative direction.
  • Must be self-motivated, work independently, and work as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong aptitude for learning and adapting to new techniques and technology.
  • Must be comfortable working on both Mac and PC platforms.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design, marketing or related field preferred.
  • 2 - 4 years’ experience in a graphic or production design role required.
  • Experience with clients in the Financial Services Industry a plus but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and/or fingers to grasp, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision required by this job include close, distant, and peripheral vision, and adjust focus.
