FSSI is currently looking for a full-time Custom Insert Operator to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. This position is responsible for preparing mailing orders by folding and inserting paper items into envelopes or packages by hand, as well as operating a metering machine to apply appropriate postage to each mail piece. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, accountable and enjoys working in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm. Overtime is scheduled as needed, and could require coming in earlier, staying later, and/or coming in for weekend shifts during high-volume production cycles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Transfer sealed envelopes from insert machine to mail trays.
• Ensure all envelopes are stamped and sealed.
• Confirm mailing addresses and micro numbers are visible in envelope window.
• Place filled mail trays onto pallets.
• Sort at more than one machine at a time.
• Carefully fold and insert specific documents into envelopes, ensuring all documents are correctly inserted in an efficient and timely manner according to specified instruction
• Scan each piece of mail to verify expected counts
• Prepare mail for shipping as needed.
• Assist Machine Operator with preparation work prior to start of each job and clearing of stock and materials at the end of each job.
• Assist the department with additional work, as needed and/or requested.
• Flexibility in work schedule is required on a reoccurring basis. This includes but is not limited to frequently working 10 or more hours per day and at least one Saturday shift a month.
