The Department of Financial Services is seeking candidates for the position of Data Governance Associate in the Data Governance and Management Unit within the Research and Innovation Division. The Data Governance Associate will be an integral part of the data governance strategy at DFS. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the Business Unit(s), and Technology, among others, to drive enterprise data policy efforts. This role also plays a critical part in driving transformation of data, business processes and practices within DFS, in alignment with the overall enterprise-wide strategy.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supports Deputy Superintendent for Data Governance & Management and other and data governance leads (i.e., Data Quality Lead, Data Glossary/Cataloguging Lead, etc.);
• Obtains appropriate involvement from DFS divisions by extensively collaborating with BU Data Stewards;
• Ensures that data governance processes are integrated into the appropriate enterprise processes and monitors implementation of processes;
• Contributes to data governance guidelines, policies, and best practices;
• Contributes to analysis of policies and procedures affecting regulated entities and how they conduct business activities with the public and/or other regulated entities;
• Contributes to research and analysis of relevant statutes and regulations and their effects upon the business activities of financial services entities with regard to the public and/or other financial services entities;
• Supports operations and administration of enterprise data governance forum(s) and related data forums (as needed);
• Serves as administrator (central point of contact) for Data Governance SharePoint site; ensures appropriate access and retention of documentations/records as per applicable guideline;
• Supports the data governance community; contributes best practices, facilitates knowledge sharing and cross-training;
• Contributes to maturation of data governance tooling and related capabilities, and partners with Chief Technology Officer organization to deliver solutions;
• Contributes to enterprise data governance program’s metrics and reporting;
• Provides project management support for data-related projects;
• Provides data governance SME expertise;
• Escalates risks and issues to Deputy Superintendent for Data Governance & Management and data governance leads;
• Supervises DFS or contract staff as needed; and
• Other duties as assigned.
