Final Mile Systems Inc is Hiring a Lead Driver/Trainer Near Madison, VA
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Driver Trainer to join our team. As a Driver Trainer, you will be responsible for training and evaluating drivers on 26' box trucks. This is a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our transportation operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct training sessions for new and existing drivers on safe driving techniques, vehicle operation, and company policies and procedures
- Provide hands-on training in operating 26' box trucks.
- Instruct drivers on proper loading and unloading procedures to ensure cargo safety
- Teach defensive driving techniques and promote adherence to traffic laws and regulations
- Monitor trainees' progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Administer written and practical exams to evaluate trainees' knowledge and skills
- Collaborate with management to develop training materials and update existing training programs as needed
- Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and technological advancements related to commercial vehicle operation
Qualifications:
- Minimum of [3] years of experience as a professional driver in 26' box trucks
- Proven track record of safe driving with no major traffic violations or accidents
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to trainees
- Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle operation, including maneuvering, parking, and backing up
- Familiarity with load securing techniques and cargo handling procedures
- Ability to adapt training methods to accommodate different learning styles
- Patient and supportive demeanor to encourage trainees' confidence and skill development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Driver Trainer or similar credentials
- Experience in conducting driver evaluations or assessments
Note: This position requires a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a DOT Medical Card
