Position Summary: 

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for inspecting, validating, and checking-in inbound materials in an efficient and timely manner, processing inbound returns, and filling transfer orders. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Inspect, validate, and check-in inbound materials (physically/systematically).
• Validate accuracy of material information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, internal transfers and other material movement documentation.
• Work with leadership team to prioritize movement of inbound materials from dock to designated storage locations.
• Process inbound returns, validating contents and RGA numbers.
• Reject damaged materials, record shortages, and work with team members to rectify the damages and shortages.
• Read work orders or process verbal instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
• Fill transfer orders for various departments.
• Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas by hand, hand truck, forklift, or lift truck.
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark containers with identifying information.
• Record number of units handled and moved, using a computerized inventory system.
• Accurately maintain computer records of all materials received and consumed on a daily basis.

Education and/or Experience: 

• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
• 2 years’ experience in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment
• 1 years’ experience operating forklifts or other motorized equipment
• Experience with computerized inventory systems preferred
