Fill-Rite Company is Hiring a Cell Operator Near Lenexa, KS

Job Title: Cell Operator
Department: Operations
Reports to: Line of Product Leader
Status: Hourly

Position Summary:
A Cell Operator is responsible for feeding raw material into machinery, assembling goods on production lines and monitoring the process. Cell Operators also use machinery to maintain the functioning and production of assembly lines. After a product has been completed, Cell Operators assess the quality of the developed products. They are action oriented, able to multi-task, able to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and be engaged with employees at all levels of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works well with others in a team environment.
  • Actively participates and is engaged in LOP and company meetings.
  • Inventories tools, parts, and supplies, contacts material handler if supplies are needed.
  • Periodically performs quality checks on products and parts to ensure quality; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
  • Examines and inspects containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components and count products and materials.
  • Assemble parts or components to form complete units, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers.
  • Seal containers or materials.
  • Record quantities produced.
  • May operate manual, automatic, and semi-automatic equipment to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Maintain work areas to 5S standards for organization, housekeeping, and inspection. Assist others as needed to support 5S.
  • Has the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Possesses basic computer skills or has the ability to learn.
  • Completes daily production logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
  • Ability to perform to established cycle times while working in a fast-paced environment. Job • Can understand and follow both verbal and written standard work instructions.
  • Ability to visually inspect work and maintain quality control.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. • Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Mechanical and technical skills.
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, or assembly instructions.
  • Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment.
  • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
  • Detail-oriented and consistent.
  • Production and processing knowledge.
  • Basic ability in mathematics, reading, and writing.

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position:

  • Manufacturing environment - temperature controlled.
  • May be exposed to diesel fuel, mineral spirits, glue, paint, adhesives, and sealant fumes.
  • Frequently lifts 15 pounds and may lift and place 45 pounds every two minutes and 70 pounds occasionally throughout a day.
  • Ability to maneuver in, around, under, and about factory machinery on a regular basis.
  • Good visual acuity.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Must wear eye protection.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, push, pull and lift on a regular basis for long periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.42 - $22.43 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
