Summary: Manages the day-to-day activities in the accounting department while maintaining an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the Bank to provide a basis for management planning, and fulfill reporting requirements.
Essential Job Functions: (major tasks, duties, and responsibilities performed- please list in order of importance)
· Develops accounting policies and procedures.
· Assists in budget preparation.
· Analyzes budget for variances to actual results.
· Prepares monthly financials, board packets, regulatory reports, interest rate risk reports, and public filings.
· Prepares monthly journal entries.
· Reconciles general ledger accounts.
· Reviews all general ledger account reconciliations.
· Assists with financial statement audit.
· Assists with tax return preparation.
· Participates in external audits for BSA, ACH and federal examiners.
· Balances all internal Fifth District Bank accounts.
· Performs other functions as requested by the President, CFO, or Board.
· Helps with public filing preparation.
· Manages all internal audit functions.
· Participates in continuing education as it pertains to the job.
· Preserves the Bank, branch, customer, manager and employee confidentiality.
· Performs various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

· Knowledge of operating policies, procedures, and banking regulations.
· Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as word, excel, and other banking systems in order to manage files and records.
· Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles.

Education and Experience: (degree or additional training required for a certain field of work)
· Bachelor of Science in Accounting
· Certified Public Accountant
· Three years of accounting experience
· Experience with quarterly and annual public filings required
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms, climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
