Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations performs accounting, money movement, pricing and other services supporting portfolio managers who invest our client's money in Fidelity’s mutual funds. Our job is to ensure that all those investments are accounted for and accurately reconciled between the banks and our accounting records. It’s as simple as balancing a checkbook but with trillions of dollars, millions of transactions and dozens of banks and different systems! Every day we have thousands of accounting breaks to research and resolve. Currently, we are still working mostly from home. Recon operations is suited for those that enjoy having a regular, daily routine. Associates learn multiple areas of business in their first year as they learn to unravel sophisticated investments. This role is crafted to give associates a phenomenal first 2 years in their careers and then look for the next step. Alternatively, they can stay longer and become the next team lead or manager. The Expertise and Skills You Bring No one has everything they need day one, but here are a few things that we are looking for: Graduating soon? Great! A little experience in financial services is even better. A Bachelor’s Degree is required. Quantitative backgrounds are ideal such as finance or business. Our business is investing so come describe the basics of accounting principles and investments. We use lots of basic tools like Excel. What financial or accounting systems do you have exposure to? Finally, we like to have fun as a team! Show us an optimistic, inquisitive, and can-do attitude. The Team Thousands of associates work at our breathtaking Westlake, TX office. They enjoy unique culinary experiences at the cafe, biking or walking on the trails, and using onsite amenities such as the gym, concierge and clinic. We have several small teams in our division. Each team focuses on a different part of the investment operation, such as reconciliations, corporate actions, or tax reclaims. The Recon teams have 8-10 associates apiece and 2-3 new associates each year. They work every day with global banks and partner teams in Ireland and New England. Each team is a different entry point into the world of securities and investment management. These teams are complementary working together to resolve complex accounting and investment problems. We believe mobility is healthy and will dedicate time for coaching and personal development. Associates will learn how the investment world works and positioned for future success as they begin a journey through one of the world's most exciting companies. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
