Job Description:

Position Description:

Coordinates incident response and builds and maintains DevOps implementations by utilizing modern tools -- Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven, and Docker. Deploys Java web applications. Builds and maintains Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipelines. Writes Python, Groovy, and shell scripts. Maintains and supports on-prem non-production and production software infrastructure. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts. 

  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms. 

  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives. 

  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.

  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.

  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives. 

  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.

  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experienceas aSenior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) coordinating incident responses and building and maintaining DevOps implementations using Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven, and Docker.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as aSenior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) coordinating incident responses and building and maintaining DevOps implementations using Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven, and Docker.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”)performing Linux and Windows systems administration including, troubleshooting, security monitoring, and performance tuning databases -- MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, and Redis lab; and using Groovy to write Jenkins’s pipeline libraries and composing pipeline as code using scripted and declared Jenkins pipelines and designing and administering Opensource databases -- MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, and Redis lab -- using Flyway.

  • DEperforming Continuous Integration (CI) of build and deploy processes, using Jenkins, Git, Maven, Ant, IBM Urban Code Deploy, Artifactory, and Remote Execution Engine; and testing Defined Benefits (DB) client servers -- desktop, DB Enterprise Server Batches, NetBenefits, and PSW.

  • DE analyzing technology solutions for supporting model deployment and integration in Cloud and on-premises environments; and building model deployment and integration workflows, using Amazon Web Services (AWS), on-premises Hadoop, and UNIX platforms through Python scripts, Cron jobs, Docker images, and APIs.

  • DE provisioning application infrastructure on AWS Cloud platform using CloudFormation templates for creating services -- ECS (AWS Elastic Container Services), Route53, S3, RDS (Amazon Relational Database Service), and IAM (AWS Identity and Access Management); and building scalable infrastructure for Microservices utilizing ECS by creating task definition JSON files.
