This position is located in Baton Rouge, LA, 70808.

The Lending Services Assistant 1 is responsible for performing administrative duties required to ensure the efficient operations of the Commercial Lending and Small Business Banking Departments. Responsible for providing department staff support in addition to the processing and handling of any functions related to loan activities. Responsible for the accurate and timely production of new Commercial and Small Business loan documents and ensuring packages are complete and adhere to the bank/compliance policies and procedures to facilitate loan closings. Provides excellent customer service when answering customer questions regarding loan and deposit related matters. Provides additional support to Commercial Banking Manager and Small Business Banking Manager as needed.

Required:

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • 2 years of experience in the lending function assisting lenders in commercial real estate loans, lines of credit, asset –based lending, construction loans, etc.
  • Flexible, detail oriented with proficient time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • Basic knowledge of Laser Pro, Decision Pro, Lawyer Pro Software and nCino.
  • Knowledge of commercial loan documentation to include SBA, Real Estate, A/R Stock, Letters of Credit, UCC, PSM etc.
  • Regulatory knowledge should include Regulation B, Regulation Z, RESPA, HMDA, TRID, and flood regulations

Specific Job Functions:

  • Responsibilities include producing and reviewing required loan documentation such as ordering appraisals, environmental reports, title policies, insurance policies, flood determinations, UCC searches and any other documentation associated with collateral perfection for Commercial and Small Business loans.
  • Collaborates with customers, attorneys, title companies and relationship managers to facilitate loan closings. This includes preparation of engagement letters, funding of loan proceeds and scanning and indexing files.
  • Assists relationship managers by clearing loan exceptions, monitoring past due reports, gathering financial information pursuant to loan covenants, and providing any like support at the discretion of the Relationship Managers or Lending Services Manager.
  • Performs general maintenance required to satisfy customer’s requests such as processing fund transfers, wires, loan advances, payment requests, generating copies of statements and other deposit and loan documents.
  • Monitors the daily overdraft report and responsible for communicating which items are paid or returned by established deadline.
  • Effectively communicates and works with Commercial & Small Business lenders to fulfill and facilitate the bank’s loan documents.
  • Works in Decision Pro and nCino to export loan data to Laser Pro for loan documentation preparation.
  • Make the final determination that the loan file is sufficiently documented, and all closing conditions are met to set an application as clear to close.
  • Request, reviews, and prepares timely and accurate closing disclosures when applicable.
  • Receives, reviews, and approves related insurance coverages and title work applicable to each loan application.
  • Performs quality assurance reviews on all loan documentation for accuracy prior to releasing documents.
  • Engages with Commercial and Small Business lenders and/or outside counsel to resolve exceptions.
  • Orders general office supplies for department.
  • Complies with rules and regulations, evidenced through successful completion of training, and demonstrated ability.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or appointed by management.
