Job Description:

Position Overview: The Group Controller will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations at our manufacturing facilities. This position will be responsible for financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards for three companies located on the same property. The Group Controller will work closely with the plant management team to drive cost efficiencies and contribute to the achievement of financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Monitor and report on key financial metrics, variances, and trends.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Cost Management:
  • Monitor and control manufacturing costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses on capital expenditures and process improvements.
  • Work with the operations team to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.
• Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial statements and tax filings.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and internal audits as needed.
• Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and reporting.
• Team Leadership:
  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to finance staff on plant-specific financial matters.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and cost control.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Sage and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
