FIBA Technologies, Inc. is Hiring a Senior Mechanical Inspector /Quality Technician Near Littleton, MA

SUMMARY

Plans, coordinates, and manages the Incoming Inspection, Machine Shop and Calibration program designed to ensure quality production of products consistent with drawings, established standards, customer requirements, internal and external procedures, and governing agencies, by performing the following duties.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • Perform first piece, process inspection parts and mechanical assemblies.
  • Conduct Final inspections on Incoming supplier parts, internal Machine Shop and Assembly product as needed.
  • Review material test reports on incoming pipe products and maintain a heat code data log.
  • Maintain calibration program for all measuring equipment and coordinate all activities to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in writing quality procedures, Control Plans, QA manuals, policies and department objectives.
  • Responsible for the reporting, collection, review and storage of all quality data and documentation from inspections performed.
  • Identification and Control of all Non-Conforming material including reporting and disposition of.
  • Conduct yearly quality audits, process monitoring, and drawing reviews.
  • Participate in Engineering reviews and new product pre-release meetings.
  • Provide assistance in regulatory and customer quality audits.
  • Coordinate all customer, independent and third-party inspector activities.
  • Maintain supplier quality monitoring program and conduct supplier qualification.
  • Maintain and coordinate the implementation of Statistical Process Control where needed.
  • Maintain and coordinate the issue of serial numbers for Tube Plant and Machine Shop products.
  • Identify test equipment and gauging needs.
  • Performs functions associated with the ISO 9001 quality management system (QMS).
  • Assist with the Tube Plant quality inspector duties as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING TIME

  • Associate degree in mechanical engineering or 8 plus years experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Machine Shop, Manufacturing or related field.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical inspection, calibration of measurement and test equipment.
  • Knowledge and application of statistical process control and quality procedures
  • Working knowledge and experience with incoming, in-process, final inspections.
  • Working knowledge with various measuring instruments and test equipment such as Micro Height, test indicators, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, Profilometers, pressure gages.
  • Working knowledge of word, excel, PowerPoint, adobe and other computer technologies.
  • ASQ certification as Mechanical Inspector, or CQT, CQE, CQA a plus.

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Will interact with production engineering, sales, marketing, manufacturing, operations and other departments as needed to accomplish department and company goals and objectives.

  • Physical Demands Efforts
  • Work is performed equally in a production area and/or office environment and the employee may on occasion lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Heavier parts are lifted by cranes.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, bend and stand and use hands to reach, finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. Working in the field there may be required to climb stairs or ladders.
  • Mental & Visual Demands
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and facility operations. Must possess good analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Must be able to process large amounts of varied information. Must have confidence in own ability to multi-task with accuracy and to work with detail-oriented information. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work is in an office setting with frequent walking between and working in production areas. May be exposed to chemicals and dyes, while in production areas employees are required to wear required personal protection equipment such as safety shoes, hearing protection and safety helmet.
