FI’s Financial Risk Management role encompasses the methodologies, tools, and approaches that help our client’s protect their portfolios. The primary responsibility of this individual is to process and analyze data for risk management purposes, e.g., stress testing, risk reporting, acquisitions, loan origination, credit modeling, account maintenance, collections. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Analyzing and interpreting complex data sets in various software packages using statistical and financial techniques 

  • Work closely with model owners, business lines, and CFO organization to improve models and analytics through data 

  • Collect data from various sources, build models and/or dashboards, perform analysis and interpret results to assist in making impactful business decisions 

  • Assist in data strategy and governance, data quality, and data architecture and modeling projects 

Required qualifications: 

  • BS/BA degree in a quantitative discipline such as finance, engineering, physics, statistics, or mathematics 

  • 3 years of risk management (DFAST) and credit modeling experience at a financial institution 

  • 3 years of experience in capturing, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets 

  • Knowledge of data structures, data warehouse concepts, and data modeling 

  • Knowledge of methods for preparing data for statistical models and/or Machine Learning models 

  • Experience developing and automating extraction, transform, and load (ETL) processes including using enterprise data integration tools 

  • Experience using enterprise database platforms (Oracle, IBM, SAP HANA, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud platforms 

  • Experience writing SQL and programming knowledge in Python or R 

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques 

  • Ability to articulate highly technical information in a simple, concise, clear, and understandable manner 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as finance, engineering, physics, statistics, or mathematics

  • Experience with Single Family credit modeling
  • Experience with Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs)

  • Prior consulting experience 

  • CFA, FRM or similar professional certifications
