Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst

General Summary:
The Analyst position is a key member ofthe Credit Center of Excellence (COE) and supports the reporting and businessintelligence needs of the Credit Department as well as the broader FHLBCincinnati organization. This position will be responsible for understanding andowning the existing reporting processes while creating efficiencies andautomation. The Analyst will also be responsible for establishing new reportingprocesses as they are needed. Thisposition will leverage data to gain key insights and effectively present theseinsights to leadership.
Principal Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Prepares a variety of reports, analyses and materials related to the Credit department on a scheduled and ad hoc basis.
  • Translates business needs into analytics/reporting requirements to support operations and regulatory requests.
  • Coordinates with members of the Credit department to understand their information needs and identifies ways to visualize and present information in a user-friendly manner.
  • Proactively mines data warehouse to identify trends and patterns and generates insights for Credit and Bank as a whole.
  • Interacts with the Data and Analytics team and Data Stewards to understand how information is stored, modeled, and used.
  • Performs data quality checks to verify data is accurate in the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Tests output and data created by Software engineering changes and systems.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge,Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Business Administration, Information Technology, Process Management or related field of study.
  • 1-2 years of experience in data analytics, report generation, or related experience is preferred.
  • Ability to generate insights from information. Tableau knowledge preferred, knowledge of other tools such as Power BI is a plus.
  • Exposure to the Agile methodology preferred.
  • Competent in information taxonomy creation, information visualization, information modeling, and data warehousing techniques.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external contacts to provide or exchange information and identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills including demonstrated experience presenting recommendations from a business perspective. Ability to credibly communicate complex topics to stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with banking and the financial industry as well as a broad understanding of relevant data and analytics trends.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated in order to drive self and work independently following established guidelines, procedures and policies.

Working Conditions:
Requiresdaily interaction with PCs and data processing software for majority of duties.Occasionally work outside the Bank's normal business hours (i.e. weekends,evenings or early morning) as necessary to meet project schedules.
Mustbe capable of engaging work in a hybrid-remote environment. Must be disciplinedand self-motivated to accomplish goals under remote working conditions withlimited supervision.
