Summary of Position :

Assist with instruction of Firearms Course for summer Regional Academy recruits.

The anticipated start date of this position is June, 2024. Position Type : Staff Required Education : Successful completion of MCOLES recognized police firearms instructor training course.

Required Work Experience : Minimum 5 years of law enforcement experience or relevant professional training and experience in firearms instruction.

Required Licenses and Certifications : Certified Michigan or National Police Firearms Instructor (NRA) or FBI Firearms Instructor Physical Demands :

• Repetitive movement
• Standing

Instruct students in firearms safety, handling and live fire on a firearms range for handguns, rifles and shotguns.

Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.

Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.

Marginal Duties / Responsibilities : Skills and Abilities : Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
