Summary: The Director is responsible for the management and leadership of the Clinical Operations department, which conducts the phase I-IV clinical trials across all therapeutic areas. It is the Director’s responsibility to ensure the clinical trials are executed efficiently, within high quality standards, in alignment with the company objectives as well as within the agreed timeline and budget. The Director is also expected to contribute to the department’s definition and execution of operational excellence across all trials. Responsibilities: Management of FIPCUS Clinical Operations for global and local projects across all therapeutic areas. Provide oversight and leadership of the Clinical Operations team in alignment with the Ferring Philosophy and Leadership Principles. Oversight of data related activities including review and cleaning of clinical trial data including query generation, follow-up and resolution in eCRF as well as timely database lock. Track and forecast resource capacity, utilization and allocation to optimize productivity and ensure alignment with company priorities and objectives. Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, talent development and retention of staff. Mentor and develop Clinical Operations team members to expand employee performance levels and assure retention of high performing individuals. Accountability for planning, execution and finalization of clinical trial activities to ensure they are conducted according to the agreed timelines, quality standard and budget. Ensure the clinical trial budgets and forecasts are managed in accordance with the initially approved budget and updates are communicated in timely fashion. Alignment and collaboration with all functions represented in the clinical teams including FIPCUS Business Operations and Site Management teams as well as Medical Directors. Clinical trials are conducted according Corporate SOPs, ICH standards and competent authority requirements by implementing best practices and adherence to GCP. Ensure effective resource utilization and allocation to optimize productivity and alignment with company priorities and objectives. Lead initiatives to streamline processes and gain synergy in operations across therapeutic areas. Create and lead the strategic vision for Clinical Operations. Gather input and buy-in from appropriate stakeholders to inform decision making. Partners with direct reports to translate strategy into tactics. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree, preferably in life science. Minimum 10 years work experience required, preferably in global clinical operations (phase I – IV in relevant therapeutic areas). 3 years of experience in a leadership role. 5 years of proven experience leading clinical teams. Thorough knowledge of the drug development process and the roles of the various functional areas in clinical development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
