Ferretti Group of America is Hiring a Marine Technician Near Fort Lauderdale, FL

Position Summary:

The Marine Service Technician/ Luxury Yacht Technician is a land-based position that is responsible for the maintenance and repairs on a variety of marine vessels. This position is responsible for identifying and diagnosing any issues with the yachts under warranty and ensuring the repair is successfully completed. The incumbent is required to travel domestically as well as internationally. The candidate is required to adhere to safety guidelines, applicable laws, and regulations. The ideal candidate should possess a pleasant demeanor and build a positive client relationship.

Duties and Responsibilities – Essential Functions

· Complete repairs within the specified times

· Advise Service Yard Manager of diagnosis, needed repairs, include pictures of before/after when applicable

· When completing each job, confirm work is satisfactory and in good working order

· Attend factory and/or additional technical training as necessary and if required

· Troubleshoot some repairs via phone or video conference when necessary

· Maintain proper inventory of common items stocked in service van

· Domestic and international travel is required with potential for overtime

· Accompany Corporate Captains on sea trials when needed

· Complete commissioning and inspection reports accurately when assigned

· Maintain company equipment to ensure good working order, including vehicles, uniform etc.

· Always keep workspace and tools clean and organized

· Collect all necessary information before requesting parts and once ordered, maintain necessary documentation, and follow up on all orders

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other company personnel and a positive client interaction

· Respond to inquiries and seeks additional information when uncertain of any tasks

· Follow safety rules, applicable laws, and regulations, wear proper protective gear as needed

· Performs other duties as assigned

Job Specifications

Education

· High school/GED; technical or vocational school a plus

Experience

· 3-5 years of related experience in the marine/yachting industry required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Fluent communicator in English. A second language is a plus

· Strong understanding of customer service with a pleasant demeanor

· Possess essential mechanical and technical skills

· Preferred skills include welding, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fiberglass, and/or hydraulics

· Valid driver’s license required

Work Environment

  • Work outdoors at boat docks, marinas, and floating barges
  • Ability to get into awkward positions to reach cramped and or small workspaces

Physical Abilities

  • Walking, standing, climbing stairways, pushing and lifting up to 50 lbs
