The Role

Ferguson Partners seeks a Vice President to join our Executive Search practice in the New York office . As a crucial member of our client-facing team, this individual will be instrumental in executing effective search processes from start to finish, taking ownership of identifying, engaging, and assessing potential candidates for our clients. The Vice President will work as part of a team to execute all day-to-day search operations as well as candidate/client management activities.

Based in the firm’s New York office, this individual will work with top-tier clients across the U.S. on a variety of senior management, C-Suite, and Board level roles. The role requires an individual who is bright, confident, credible, and well-spoken with a business-oriented mindset. They must be comfortable and capable interacting with candidates and clients alike.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist search consultants in creating multi-channel sourcing strategies to target companies and relevant potential candidates within the market.
  • Qualify potential candidates through competency and behavioral-based interview techniques, whether in person or via Zoom.
  • Create and review client update reports, candidate assessments, and reference reports with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Play an active role in client meetings, providing detailed insight on market feedback, candidate backgrounds, and the candidate pipeline.
  • Proactively develop and maintain ongoing candidate relationships, utilizing those networks to assist with current and future engagements.
  • Balance deadlines and deliverables for multiple searches simultaneously.
  • Keep abreast of current market conditions and industry news.
  • Occasionally attend industry-related conferences and events and build a network of industry contacts.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has five or more years of progressive recruiting experience within a professional services environment. This individual will ideally have experience in retained executive search, contingent recruiting for mid-senior level professional services roles, and/or corporate talent acquisition.

Collaborative, high-energy, and results-oriented, they will not only help successfully close searches, but positively impact the success of the Executive Search practice.

Additional competencies include:

  • Demonstrated track record developing and implementing successful and creative recruitment strategies across multiple engagements. Experience conducting research and/or identifying candidates.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong organization skills.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capabilities; able to understand clients’ needs as well as appreciate candidates’ capabilities.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence, initiative, and professionalism when interacting with colleagues, candidates and clients. Able to deal with confidential and sensitive matters appropriately.
  • Ability to apply a high level of emotional intelligence and commitment to a service-driven approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work; often within tight timeframes.
  • Impeccable integrity, strong work ethic, and sense of urgency.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience with real estate, healthcare and/or hospitality is ideal.
