FERGUSON ARCHITECTURE of Tacoma is seeking a full-time ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER with 3 years of experience in a professional setting who is ready for an opportunity to be challenged and grow in their career. In the short-term we need someone to assist on multiple project types, including commercial office, multifamily, bars, restaurants, breweries, entertainment venues, and civic projects. Long-term, we are looking for an adventurous and determined person hungry for increased responsibility and autonomy. This is an IN-PERSON position that requires being present at our design studio in Tacoma within normal business hours at least 3 days per week.

Day One Skills and Attributes We Request

· Professionally accredited degree in Architecture

· Demonstrated professional experience in Revit, our primary drawing software

· Demonstrated experience producing design and construction documents on multiple projects

· Experience working with Project Architects during design and documentation

· Strong organization and communication skills

· Willingness and confidence to interact directly with team members, consultants, and jurisdiction staff

· Curiosity and self-directed problem-solving and research skills

· Familiarity with navigating building and land use code

Additional Technical Skills We Love

· Solid experience in CAD drafting

· Experience with 3D modeling software such as Sketch-up or Rhino

· Experience with renderings software such as Vray or Enscape

· Strong graphic skills, including familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator

Bonus Skills and Interests We Encourage

· Interest in obtaining professional licensure and working on ARE requirements

· Desire to be a community thought leader and engage with local professional and neighborhood groups
