Job Summary The Principle Electrical Engineer is responsible for product design, product development, and product support of Automated Blood Technology medical devices. Responsibilities The Principle Electrical Engineer will design and develop new or improved electronic sub-assemblies for medical devices. Design activities include analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, printed circuit board layout, component selection, tolerance analysis, prototype development, and trouble shooting. Work with cross-functional teams (mechanical engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, project management) in detailed phases of the engineering projects. Provide engineering support for the manufacturing of electrical-mechanical devices for medical use. This includes alternate component analysis to address component obsolescence, and manufacturing changes using change control procedures. Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical engineering problems. Lead and provide guidance to engineers and/or technicians. Write detailed design documents, design reviews, change plans, test plans, and test reports. Work with external suppliers of electrical assemblies to evaluate and test for use in in Fresenius-Kabi medical devices. EMC compliance testing, trouble-shooting and problem resolution. Demonstrated leadership experience and strong teamwork. Experience working on multiple projects and priorities with demonstrated success in delivering results. Strong communication skills (verbal and technical writing) Familiar with document controls, change control process, design verification and validation, and overall medical device industry knowledge.
