Fenner Dunlop (Toledo), LLC is Hiring a Production Supervisor - Toledo 2nd Shift 3:00pm - 11:00pm Near Toledo, OH

Fenner Dunlop is looking for an enthusiastic Production Supervisor to join our Toledo, Ohio manufacturing team. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Fenner Dunlop, a Michelin Group company, designs and manufactures the widest range of bulk material handling conveyor belts in the world. We strive to be the premier provider of the safest and most reliable conveyor belting and services to a variety of heavy industrial markets such as coal mining, hard rock mining, sand, gravel, wood handling, power generation, pulp and paper. Fenner Dunlop provides North American made belting, manufactured at our facilities located throughout the United States and Canada. For over 150 years, Fenner Dunlop has researched, designed, developed, manufactured, and tested its conveyor belting products, supporting nearly any type of conveyor application, and providing the right solutions to protect conveyor system investments in the harshest conveying environments.

What You’ll Do

Production & Maintenance:

  • Monitor and maintain daily production goals.
  • Communicate production goals to employees daily at the start of their shift.
  • Prepare regular production performance reports, including but not limited to, production status, issues, and performance metrics.
  • Produce job travelers and job receipts.
  • Monitor and correct ERP entries.
  • Coordinate shift overlap of production information with other supervisors and production management.
  • Ensure proper and safe functioning of equipment and tools.
  • Enter work orders to maintenance for required repairs.
  • Conduct and maintain a weekly inventory of all departmental supply items and orders and assist in all inventory audits.

Team Management:

  • Create and nurture a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Encourage open communication, cooperation, and respect among team members.
  • Recognize and reward individual and team achievements.
  • Address conflicts and challenges within the team promptly and professionally to maintain a harmonious work environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify process inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Empower team members to provide input and implement process enhancements.
  • Encourage team members to share ideas, concerns, and feedback.
  • Seek solutions and foster a positive resolution-oriented approach.

Training & Performance Management:

  • Establish performance objectives and expectations.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development.
  • Identify key areas for cross-training opportunities and assess skill gaps.
  • Cross-train employees to enhance their skills, versatility, and productivity across various machines.
  • Maintain records of training activities, including attendance, progress, and completion.
  • Hold employees accountable by providing regular performance feedback and conduct constructive performance reviews and corrective actions.
  • Manage employees’ hours to minimize overtime and review their hours worked and attendance via computer entry.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed and proper PPE usage.
  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and participate in the Safety Program.
  • Enter Hazard ID's and complete assigned action items.
  • Review and modify Task Safety Analysis and train employees on revisions.
  • Monitor and ensure a clean production floor to prevent hazards.
  • Ensure employees are performing work safely throughout their shift.
  • Foster and promote a daily culture of safety.
  • Report any safety concerns to management.

Quality Control & 5S:

  • Train and educate employees on 5S principles and ensure adherence.
  • Conduct regular 5S audits and assessments, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and ownership of 5S principles.
  • Maintain a clean and safe production floor.
  • Inspect production to meet quality standards.
  • Report non-conforming conditions and issue deviations.
  • Root Cause/Analyze quality defects and implement countermeasures.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field with 3 years of manufacturing supervision; or
  • Associate's degree in Business, Management, or related field with 5 years of manufacturing supervision; or
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 7 years of manufacturing supervision.
  • Proven leadership with effective team management.
  • Proven track record of fostering a positive team attitude.
  • Strong understanding of safety and quality regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent positive communication and organizational skills.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and computer skills.
  • Must possess valid driver's license.
  • Flexibility to work shifts.
