Fender is Hiring a PreSonus Public Relations & Communications Specialist Near Baton Rouge, LA

The Public Relations & Communications Specialist will play a key role in the supporting global communications plans for the PreSonus brand, working closely with global partners to deliver against the overall global PR & Communications strategy. This person will leverage an understanding of the global media eco-system including influencers and traditional media within the Pro Audio, Music Industry, and Lifestyle space, to contribute to compelling storytelling while partnering with the global regions to promote a consistent global brand image.

Preferably, role is based out of Baton Rouge, LA but consideration will be given to candidates able to work remotely based in the US.

Essential Functions:

  • Support development and execution of PR strategies across all categories including electrics, acoustics, pro-audio, amplifiers, lifestyle/accessories, Fender digital products, corporate/business etc.
  • Write internal media updates and external media facing press releases, fact sheets, media briefings, pitches and other planning materials.
  • Maintain updates on overall PR calendar.
  • Monitor media for client media tracking reports.
  • Organize and keep media databases up to date.
  • Lead sample account inventory and related orders/returns.
  • Maintain and build MI media relationships and overall MI outreach for the year.
  • Secure product reviews in industry-related publications and websites.
  • Keep detailed records of projects through various weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Prepare reports for various key launches, internal meetings etc.
  • Keep US media tracker up to date and oversee global markets media input into tracker.
  • Support various brand and product campaigns.
  • Assist in coordinating special events and archiving historical documents.
  • Assist donation and sponsorship requests.
  • Assist in managing PR Intern responsibilities and workload.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of professional public relations experience (job/internship) in a public relations agency or corporate marketing communications environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communications, Journalism or related field or the equivalent level of experience required
  • Basic understanding of media relation skills and comprehension of social media.
  • Ability to interact professionally with executives and portray good judgment. Solid comfort with interactions with product teams and media partners.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as pay attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. Work with team to prioritize tasks and focus on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Solid communication and written skills.
  • Candidates should be proactive and have in-depth knowledge of consumer behavior, the latest marketing strategies and stay current on cultural and social trends.
  • Ability to strategically pitch story ideas to the media and land placement in local and national music, entertainment, and business media outlets.
  • Command of Windows XP Professional and Mac OS, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook and Key Note Photoshop is recommended and SAP desired.
  • Working knowledge of the music industry, musical instrument brands, and related products, and the musicians who play them is a plus.

Please note that it is not typical for a Fender employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role – especially as a new hire – and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $41,333.00 - 82,267.00
