Our mission is to support and enable the makers who fuel the pursuit of musical expression. We are currently searching for an exceptional Custom Shop Paint Supervisor to join our team in Corona, CA.

The Custom Shop Paint Supervisor will be responsible for leading activities of associates, daily management, performance management, training, and "Safety Quality Delivery Cost" (SQDC) reporting. You will ensure that production meets daily goals, supervise manufacturing personnel as well as responsible for smooth and balanced work flow throughout paint production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Hour by Hour tracking of paint production
  • Capture Hour by Hour internal/external issues
  • Facilitate issue resolution or escalations to managers - as needed
  • Respond to Operator alerts - Standard Work/nonconformance
  • Standard Work audits - periodically throughout the day
  • Monitor/manage team metrics to goal
  • Audit line-side material - ensure min/max is maintained
  • Work in a transparent, professional, respectful manner to coach and build a high-performing team
  • Manage timekeeping for the team
  • Sequence and schedule group production
  • Identify Team opportunities for improvement - Product, Safety, Quality, Training, etc
  • Performance Management - Conduct Performance Evaluations to coach and mentor direct reports
  • Responsible for leading department meetings
  • Daily 6S audit and checklist – communicate needed corrective actions to team members
  • Identify skill development needs/opportunities for team
  • Identify line balancing opportunities

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related manufacturing field and/or equivalent level of experience.
  • Working Knowledge of TPS / Lean Manufacturing practices. (A3, VSM, 5S, Kaizen Activities, Poke-Yoke, SMED, etc.)
  • Experienced in Continuous Improvement and strategic thinking
  • Ability to work non-standard hours as required
  • Capable of assigning work to hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput
  • Ability to work non-standard hours as required
  • Experience generating reports using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint regarding downtime, production, training, and inventory
  • Understanding of guitar construction, manufacturing processes and machinery in a woodworking environment.
  • Body shop/ Paint experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems using and coach others to solve problems

If this is a remote position, the pay scale disclosed herein may be adjusted further based upon the applicable geographic differential associated with the location from which the successful candidate will work. Please note that it is not typical for a Fender employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role – especially as a new hire – and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $62,200.00-$124,400.00 per year.
