The Role

As an entry-level engineering and project management role you will products in the mobile accessories industry. This role is responsible for cost, timing, performance, and quality of assigned individual projects. Responsibilities also include reporting project and task status, communication of task deadlines, and delegation of engineering and manufacturing tasks to vendors in the US and overseas.

We operate in a hybrid work environment that offers three remote days per week.

In This Role, You will…

• Drive new product development through an abbreviated gate process to meet required launch date.
• Manage multiple simultaneous projects to ensure timelines are met in a fast-paced industry.
• Learn and follow consumer, competitive, and technology trends.
• Develop & maintain detailed product development timelines and meet target milestones.
• Provide alternative options when faced with obstacles during concept development.
• Troubleshoot problems using engineering principles.
• Develop, test, and optimize product design specifications.
• Manage outside vendors to develop product concept samples.
• Interfaces with Asian Engineering Team for CAD, design & prototypes
• Review mobile accessory CAD files against a set of best practice guidelines to ensure compliance for both New Product Development (NPD) and Continuous Product Development (CPD)
• Work closely with PD team Design Engineer to efficiently balance requested file reviews and ensure on-time completion.
• Communicate any feedback to Design Engineer regarding both CAD file review guidelines as well as the CAD review process itself for further analysis.
• Interface with on-site vendor managers for vendor-supplied project deliverables including costs, timing, and manufacturability Manages bills of materials, product drawings, product specifications, agency testing results, and engineering change orders.
• Coordinates engineering builds, manufacturing pilot build & production start-up
• Requires overseas travel to support product launches.

What You Bring to the Team

• B.S. in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of prior internship experience
• Preferred experience working in multi-disciplinary teams (technical, design, and manufacturing) on the conception, development and launch of consumer products.
• Strong problem solving and continuous improvement skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
• Knowledge of injection molding and plastics design
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency with computer aided design software – Solidworks.
• Proficient in MS Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Willing to communicate with Asia team outside normal work hours.
• Willing to travel up to 10%, includes international travel.
