Feld Entertainment is Hiring a Director of Audio Operations Near Ellenton, FL

Lead a team and collaboratively design sound systems for Feld productions through research, development, and implementation. Collaborate with artistic and creative teams in show development. Train and support show crews on operation of systems and software tools. Develop departmental standards, future planning, and in house events. Manage the day-to-day operations of the sound department.

Essential Functions

Manage a team of audio professionals to execute the overall goals of the department and company.
Research, collaborate on, and implement design of show systems and assist in the purchase of show sound equipment.
Provide audio expertise required for any company production.
Provide training for show personnel in relation to operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all audio equipment.
Travel to touring units to complete above duties, in addition to ensuring that company standards and best practices are being maintained.
Assist in the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all audio equipment stored at Palmetto facility.
Assist with planning and set up of in-house events.
Continually seeks to improve efficiency of operation.
Must be able to serve as a positive role model even in the face of work and industry challenges.
Accepts all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

College degree in sound related field or theatre preferred. Other technical training, experience and certifications a plus.
Experience on a sound team as a leader.
Touring experience as Audio Crew Lead a plus.
Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.

Skills & Abilities

Ability to design, implement, troubleshoot, and repair sound systems.
Proficient with digital sound consoles, speaker management software, audio networks, and playback systems.
Full understanding of audio, Vectorworks drafting software, electrical flow, and audio networks.
General computer skills, (i.e.; Excel, Word, CAD, audio editing, QLab, etc).
Driver’s License required.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time at a minimum.
Good interpersonal skills, ability to interact successfully at all levels within the business, with customers and clients. Must be able to balance the needs of multiple business stakeholders.
Dante Level 1 Certification encouraged.
