Overview of position:

FEDITC is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to work at MacDill AFB, FL. A United States Citizenship and an active TS/SCI DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
• Plans and leads major technology assignments.
• Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
• Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
• May supervise others.

Qualifications

Experience/Skills:

• 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• A senior cloud platform engineer working supporting the Department of Defense to support enterprise systems needs to have a combination of technical and interpersonal skills, including:
  • Technical Knowledge: The engineer should have a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as well as experience with virtualization and containerization technologies, such as VMware and Docker.
  • Security: With a focus on the Department of Defense, the engineer must have a strong understanding of security requirements and best practices, including secure network design, encryption, access controls, and data protection.
  • Development: The engineer should have strong development skills and experience building and maintaining cloud-based platforms and services, including experience with scripting languages, automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaboration: The engineer should be able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders.
  • Communication: The engineer must have strong communication skills and be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem Solving: The engineer should have the ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Continuous Learning: The rapidly changing nature of technology requires the engineer to have a continuous learning mindset and be comfortable with adapting to new technologies and best practices.

• In addition to these skills, the engineer should also have experience with agile software development methodologies and IT service management practices. A deep understanding of enterprise architecture concepts and practices is also desirable.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience will be considered.

Clearance:

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.
• Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
