Overview of position:

FEDITC is seeking a Journeyman System Administrator to work at MacDill AFB, FL. A United States Citizenship and an active TS/SCI DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
• Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
• Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
• Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
• Broad understanding of different aspects of IT, including hardware, software, networking, and security.

Qualifications

Experience/Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience working with the specific types of hardware and software systems used by the Government are required.
• Systems administrators should possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the Government’s system’s hardware and software.
• Candidate requirements vary depending on system complexity, the types of operating and network systems being supported, and the size of the organization.
• Typical duties include:
  • Installing operating system software, patches, and upgrades
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software and networking issues
  • Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring operating system software and hardware
  • Performing system backups and recovery
  • Conducting server builds 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field

Certification:

• Professional certifications such as the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA) are also valuable.

Clearance:

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.
• Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
