The Pharmacy Manager provides oversight, hiring, orientation and evaluation of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, medication assistance advocates, pharmacy interns, pharmacy residents and graduate students; identifying and resolving service problems; conducting research in pharmacy practice; personnel management; assisting with the financial management and budgeting of the department; participation in developing and implementing the department strategic plan; provides on-line staffing; and participation in the implementation of new technology to improve services, patient care, patient safety, and educational opportunities for staff and students.
OSUWMC Pharmacy Managers may be responsible for any of the following: coordinate and implement services within a functional area of the department; develop, implement and monitor programs that guide and support the provision of high quality cost effective pharmaceutical care; recommend a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide the departments services; continuously assess and improve the departments performance; maintain appropriate quality and service indicators; participate in the selection of outside services if needed; ensure compliance with appropriate patient care and business practices; ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies; embrace; adhere to customer service standards and encourage and support service orientation by other staff.
