Federal Way Public Schools is Hiring a Learning Facilitator Near Auburn, WA

POSITION SUMMARY: The Learning Facilitator will supervise and help students succeed by ensuring focus on their academic studies and building strong mentoring relationships with students. The Learning Facilitator should share the school's entrepreneurial spirit and passion to provide students with a world class educational program that blends virtual with face-to-face activities that meet students’ individualized needs. Learning Facilitators will work closely with on-site and on-line certificated teachers to monitor the students’ academic progress and provide academic support as needed.
This position supports building, district, and state initiatives to include assessment support and facilitation. This position requires high levels of organization, commitment to deadlines, clear communication, and collaboration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive.   • Support teachers with instruction management of students
  • Create an environment favorable to learning and personal growth
  • Facilitation and Guidance with Personalized Learning Plan, and communicate with students, parents, and staff in regards to academic progress
  • Coordinate activities related to progression of identified goals and highlights of Personalized Learning Plans
  • Track, monitor, and manage student progress of graduation requirements.
  • Support all staff in communication (written and verbal) of progress towards graduation and program completion
  • Assist with parent and community events (some evenings)
  • Assist with program related student recognition and celebration events (some evenings)
  • Support student scheduling, enrollment, and marketing
  • Extended learning opportunities coordination, communication, and processing
Other Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position
  • Remain current on new data collection and notification process
  • Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities within contractual time
Required QualificationsEducation and ExperienceAssociate of Arts Degree, 48 college level semester credits, or 72 college level quarter credits.
One (1) year experience tutoring students or related experience
Additional RequirementsBasic Microsoft WORD and EXCEL
Positive evaluations
Preferred QualificationsThree (3) years of school-based experience.
Bachelor’s degree.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit, stand and walk, bend neck and back, squat, kneel, and use hands for fine manipulation and repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling. The employee will occasionally be required to climb stairs/ladder, lift and reach overhead, and lift/carry. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 5 lbs and must frequently lift/carry up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 20 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull a maximum force of 100 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions and intermittently works near video display. The employee occasionally may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Position occasionally requires exposure to angry, frustrated, or aggressive individuals, typically in a school classroom environment.
Work ScheduleThis position works 201 days per school year with a flexible workday for evening and weekend events. Work schedules may vary depending on specific needs; each school site will determine the work calendar.
Reporting RelationshipPosition reports directly to, and is evaluated by the Principal or building designee with input from counselors.

Level Of CompensationLevel B on the Prof-Tech Salary Schedule. This position includes the following benefits prorated based on FTE – Medical, dental vision, sick and vacation leave, life insurance, retirement.
