Federal is excited to add a new Planner/Buyer to our Materials team. In this role, you’ll contribute to our success by providing planning and buying activities under the direction of the Materials Manager. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a cross-functional capacity that is primarily responsible for purchasing parts from vendors and coordinating job releases with production in an accurate and timely manner. You’ll also partner with leadership to identify root causes of supply chain issues and implement root cause countermeasures where needed.

Do you enjoy this work?

  • Plan assembly work orders using Syteline ERP, ensuring efficient production
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Develop inventory strategies for production and service needs
  • Analyze sales orders for material requirements, flag shortages to manager
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and customer service on production and material issues
  • Manage vendor relationships, reduce lead times, and ensure timely deliveries
  • Place and expedite purchase orders, manage material supply base
  • Optimize item master setup, including pricing, lead time, and stock parameters
  • Drive continuous improvement projects, analyze supply/demand, and negotiate with suppliers for best outcomes

  • High School Diploma; BS/BA Preferred
  • 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment as a planner, scheduler, buyer, or production control
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments with changing priorities
  • Proven experience interpreting production bill of materials and assembly build processes
  • Familiarity with engineer-to-order supply chain management
  • Proficient in planning software tools
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities; able to read, write, and comprehend English
  • Exceptional organizational skills for project and deadline management
  • Analytical thinker with effective problem-solving and mathematical skills
  • Approach work as a collaborative team player
  • Proficient in MS Office
