Summary:

Installs, maintains and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, piping and electrical systems and ensures they are in good/safe operating condition. Keep grounds and facility in clean/safe condition. Performs preventative maintenance and deals with breakdowns and repairs in a timely manner to ensure maximum production and reduces downtime. Creates and revises programming on machines to ensure maximum production.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Monitor equipment being run on assigned shift to promote its effective and continuous operation.
  • Assist production personnel in the set-up and troubleshooting of production work center equipment when issues occur that deter proper set-up from being achieved.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems on related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, and pressure regulators on equipment as required.
  • Repair and maintain physical structure and grounds of establishment.
  • Set up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Connect wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire.
  • Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and repair or replace faulty devices.
  • Good attendance and self motivation.
  • Must follow all company safe work practices and procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working area is essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while demonstrating flexibility, commitment to teamwork and willingness to change assignments and work overtime to meet needs.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; prefer one year certificate from College or Technical School; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with carpentry, welding, electrical, and or hydraulics trades and programming of CNC and robotic equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a company issued Forklift License.
