Position: Supervisory IT Specialist, GS 14

Division: Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS)

Section: Information Technology Management Section (ITMS)

Unit: Communication Technologies Unit (CTU)

Location: Clarksburg, WV

Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Variable shift hours may be required to interface with different shifts)

Salary: GS 14: $116,393.00 - $151,308.00

Full Performance level: GS 14

Number of Positions Available: 1

Duration: Full Time/Permanent

Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill positions within the same division when the position includes substantially the same duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.

Key Requirements

Mission Statement:

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Major Duties:

  • Directs and organizes IT Specialists engaged in technical work/projects that provide a variety of infrastructure services.
  • Manages teams and operates successfully within a Safe Agile framework.
  • Provides advice, guidance, and direction on work procedures, and policies.
  • Guides team in logical, timely, and well-informed decision(s) to quickly resolve complex technology problems.
  • Coaches and develops employees, providing opportunities for both formal and informal training.
  • Develops solutions and work accomplishment plans to meet program goals and objectives; plan for and adjust work assignments to meet deadlines; and manage work operations to effectively utilize available resources.
  • Defines and prioritizes IT requirements with direct input from strategic themes, user groups, and/or management.
  • Effectively manages resources to ensure mission success.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Specialized Experience (SE):

GS 14: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lowest grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Provided leadership and delegated work by formulating goals, initiatives, tactical plans, and long-range forecasts for the technical infrastructure needs of an organization.
  • Directly participated in projects that required the development of action plans related to applicable technical aspects and their implementation (For example: design, development, test, integration, and management of wide area and local area networks and procedures).
  • Prepared written reports and oral presentations for a diverse audience in collaboration with individuals both within and outside an organization, on technical infrastructure matters, tailoring material based on audience and scenarios.
  • Experience organizing projects and evaluating collected metrics.

In addition to the above, applicant must also possess leadership experience.

  • Working knowledge of AGILE methodology
