Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is Hiring a Supervisory Facilities Operations Specialist Near Huntsville, AL

Position: Supervisory Facilities Operations Specialist, GS-14

Division: Finance and Facilities Division

Unit: Redstone Facilities Unit

Location: Huntsville, AL

Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Flexible)

Salary: GS-14 $120,849.00 - $157,100.00

Full Performance level: GS-14

Number of Positions Available:1

Duration: Full Time/Permanent

Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill positions within the same division when the position includes substantially the same duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Major Duties

  • Alters, renovates, operates and maintains all FBI facilities locations on Redstone Arsenal which consists of many types of buildings (Laboratories, Classrooms, regular office spaces, Dormitories, Data Centers, Ranges and Warehouses and industrial Space), elevators, multiple complex heating ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, Central Utility Plant, cafeteria facilities, health services facilities, large computer and laboratory operations, and multi-level parking garages.

  • Makes decisions which impact and change priorities; designates projects which should be deferred in order to comply with urgencies and exigencies.

  • Assists with developing program directions, resolves problems and provides policy or procedural changes to the Unit Chief.

  • Makes daily work assignments consistent with levels of responsibility and ability levels of subordinates; establishes priorities and sets deadlines for completion and monitors progress towards that goal; furnishes advice, guidance, direction and specific instructions as deemed necessary.

  • Provides detailed recommendations concerning long-range Unit goals and objectives and utilizes long-range planning techniques to effectively determine both personnel and non-personnel needs.

  • Conducts detailed analyses of problem areas being encountered and conducts independent research and provides recommendations for problem resolution.

Specialized Experience (SE):

GS-14: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Experience with building equipment and facility systems, facility maintenance, and facility operations.

  • Experience with financial and organizational planning.

  • Experience with personnel/human resources and business administration.

  • Experience managing expenditures and allocation of funds.
