Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is Hiring a Program Analyst Near Pocatello, ID

Position: Program Analyst, GS-9/11

Division: Facilities and Finance Division

Unit: Travel Unit

Location: Pocatello, ID

Working Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm (flexible)

Salary: GS-09: $59,966.00 - $77,955.00
GS-11: $72,553.00 - $94,317.00

Full Performance Level: GS-11

Number of Positions Available: 1

Duration: Full Time/Permanent

Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill positions within the same division when the position includes substantially the same duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Major Duties:

GS-9

  • Performs a variety of financial management work to include accounting, budget, and financial reporting.
  • Reviews and accurately processes payment requests in a timely manner.
  • Conducts analysis; measures the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of travel programs.
  • Applies reconciliation techniques towards budgets comprised of multiple funding appropriations and ensures monies are utilized in a manner consistent with congressional intent and the FBI's mission.
  • Studies and analyzes information/data to improve the accuracy and adequacy of information systems. Provides recommendations to management officials regarding program operations.


GS-11

  • Presents alternatives, conclusions and recommendations to management for development and execution of proposed activities.
  • Conducts analytical studies related to program controls, productivity improvement, program improvement, and workforce planning which may include the effectiveness of work methods, manpower utilization, and the distribution of functions.
  • Prepares and delivers briefings and presentations to management officials. Composes analytical narratives, detailed statistical or descriptive reports, and/or concise graphs/charts.
  • Evaluates, researches, and prepares complete and concise responses to inquiries, reports, and/or other matters

Qualifications and Evaluations

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.

Specialized Experience (SE):

GS-9: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Experience performing analytical work in the area of financial management, utilizing qualitative and quantitative data in financial reporting methods, techniques, and strategies.
  • Experience planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks to meet established deadlines.
  • Experience applying financial management practices to resolve issues.
  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and explaining policy and/or directives.

GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 9 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Experience with financial management theories, practices, and techniques sufficient to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a variety of complex assignments.
  • Experience with ensuring efficient and effective operational and administrative requirements are met while adhering to federal government rules and regulation.
  • Experience with Independently identifying and resolving complex issues while making recommendations to management on various financial programs and processes.
  • Experience extracting financial data from various reports; and/or applying statistical logic necessary for budget formulation of requests.

Education

All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:

GS-9: Applicant must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

GS-11: Applicant must have a Ph.D. OR equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.
