Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is Hiring a CRISIS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST GS 11/12 Near New York, NY

Position: Crisis Management Specialist, GS 11/12

Division: New York Field Office

Location: New York City, NY

Working Hours: 8:15 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. (working hours may vary)

Salary: GS- 11 $80,769.00 - $104,996.00

GS - 12 $96,808.00 - $125,851.00

Full Performance level: GS- 13

Number of Positions Available: 1

Duration: Full Time/Permanent

Additional selections may be made from this announcement to fill positions within the same division when the position includes substantially the same duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.

Key Requirements

  • Must be a current, permanent FBI employee
  • Must be able to obtain an SCI clearance
  • Selectee will be required to complete form FD-887, Request for Access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)

Mission Statement:

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Major Duties

  • Provides insight on budgetary matters and performs financial duties that support the overall program mission.
  • Plans, identifies, acquires, and deploys resources needed to anticipate, prevent, and/or resolve a crisis.
  • Applies pertinent laws, policies, and precedents which effect the use of support resources from the crisis management program.
  • Supports training for FBI and other Federal, state, and local law enforcement personnel regarding critical incidents and major investigations.
  • Deploys both domestically and internationally to assist in crisis management planning/command post facilitation.
  • Assists in crisis management training by providing basic guidance on command post structure, component missions, design implementation and stand operation procedures.
  • Assists in the design and development of training exercises by providing a basic understanding of FBI investigative and intelligence gathering techniques.
  • Participates in formal interagency committees, conferences, task forces and working groups. Initiates and maintains liaison with participants from interagency groups.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively in writing, in order to advise and guide executive management.

Specialized Experience (SE):

GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Provided investigative research and analytical support, crisis event/crisis support and/or special monitoring.
  • Prepared written communications and provided oral briefings to all levels of management to include collaboration with internal and external partners.

GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Conducted training sessions to educate internal and external entities.
  • Refined existing work methods and techniques for application to the analysis of specific issues or resolution of problems.
  • Provided investigative research and analytical support, crisis event/crisis support and/or special event monitoring.
  • Prepared written communications and provided oral briefings to all levels of management to include collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Provided support on budgetary and financial matters.

Education

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.

All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:

GS-11: Applicant must have a Ph.D. OR equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.

GS-12: Education may not be substituted for SE at this grade level.
