Join our team providing essential nursing services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) in DoDEA community schools across two geographically dispersed districts. Students may range from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Responsibilities:

Direct Services (Task #1):

• Provide licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN) services tailored to each student’s IEP and/or IHP requirements.
• Offer nursing services during Extended School Year (ESY) as needed.
• Deliver direct nursing care according to student's IEP/IHP, including facilitating understanding among school personnel, acquiring relevant resources, and coordinating services.
• Administer medical procedures as per certification, such as chest percussions, oxygen monitoring, tube feeding, and seizure management.
• Adapt services as needed during extended school closures, including providing direct services at the student’s home when required.

Indirect Services (Task #2):

• Ensure student's medical stability for school participation.
• Attend meetings upon request, including Case Study Committee (CSC) meetings.
• Maintain weekly communication with the school nurse, providing documentation of medical procedures completed.
• Provide technical assistance and training to school staff and parents/sponsors as requested.
• Communicate with parents/sponsors only with written permission from the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).

General Responsibilities (Task #3):

• Ensure nursing presence on school days, excluding specific circumstances such as student absence due to illness or holidays.
• Maintain communication and coordination with school and government officials to address any issues promptly.

Requirements:

• LPN or RN license in the respective geographical area/state.
• Experience in pediatric nursing preferred.
• Ability to adapt to varying student needs and educational environments.
