,,,Floor Tech Job Description

We are looking to hire an energetic Floor Tech to keep our commercial customer's floors clean. The Floor Tech will be responsible for the maintenance of all floor areas, and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. You will remove spots from carpets, perform bonnet and extraction carpet cleaning, dispose of trash and assist with hazardous waste collection. You will operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuum cleaners, and shop vacuums, and you will wear adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment.

To be successful in this role you will protect our customers by keeping floors free from harmful microorganisms, and by being mindful of slip, trip, and fall hazards. Preferred candidates are motivated, meticulous and able to work with numerous interruptions

Floor Tech Responsibilities:

• Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas and other areas.
• Moving furniture before and after cleaning.
• Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping and waxing floors.
• Measuring chemicals correctly.
• Operating chemical dispensing units.
• Labeling chemicals correctly.
• Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently.
• Keeping inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Reporting maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Assisting with hazardous waste collection as requested by supervisor.

Floor Tech Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent preferred.
• Floor maintenance experience preferred.
• Completion of drug test.
• Completion of on-the-job training.
• Resilient to noise.
• Physically agile.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Leading a team and assuming responsibility for the completion of the job

Required Basic Qualifications

• Must have good listening and verbal communication skills. Some positions require the ability to speak English.
• Must maintain a neat appearance. A clean and neatly worn uniform is always required .
• Must attend periodic training and safety meetings.
• Must be able to follow directions and perform work per instructions. Must be able to follow building maps to locate work areas.
• Must be punctual.
• Must have knowledge of floor care duties and responsibilities.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds. Anything over 50 pounds requires assistance.
• Repetitive motion involved daily may include, but is not limited to, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, squatting, lifting.
• Must have knowledge of and be able to operate floor care equipment, which includes but is not limited to, automatic scrubber, buffer, shampoo machine, extractor, wet vac, carpet pile lifter, vacuum.
• Must have knowledge as to proper use and application of floor care products.
• Must have a valid Missouri driver’s license and possess and maintain a good driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
