Job Summary
The City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department is hiring for three (3) Worker I, Natural Areas positions. Two positions are within the Trails and Visitor Amenities division which is responsible for the construction and maintenance of various visitor amenities including trails, footbridges, boardwalks, benches, parking lots, vault toilets, fencing, and signage. The other position is in the Resource Management division and involves enhancing habitat and vegetative diversity through tasks like weed control, wildlife management, applying pesticides, ecological monitoring, fence building, mowing, and tree work. You will be invited to share your preferences for either or both roles in this application process.
These roles are fully benefited, full-time, in-person positions that typically follow a compressed work week with four 10-hour days either Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday, with occasional odd hours, overnights, or weekends as needed.
This position will work independently, as part of the team, and in coordination with contractors, volunteer groups, and other City staff. The ideal candidate should be skilled and passionate about this wide variety of work and be someone who maintains a positive attitude, has strong initiative, and a firm commitment to safety.
