The right candidate for this position will possess the following skills:

Role:

Supervisor of the team responsible for calibrating and servicing measurement devices.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise day-to-day activities of approximately 6 direct-reports to uphold compliance to standards and to ensure efficient and thorough execution of tasks. Confirm direct-reports’ outputs before submission to management.
• Provide technical guidance to direct-reports on calibrations, troubleshooting, MSA studies (gauge R&R and attribute studies), etc.
• Ensure that proper training material, training plans, and competency confirmation are in place for direct-reports. Provide on-going feedback to direct-reports on technical and professional subjects to promote continuous growth.
• Review and approve gauge certifications / calibrations, correlation studies, MSA studies (gauge R&R and attribute studies), and new gauge validation.
• Maintain a proficiency in all measurement devices, including basic hand gauges, video scope, roundness tester, basic CMM operation, force tester, optical comparator, contour tracer, profilometer, hardness tester, spectrometer, etc.
• Provide consultation on gauge designs and dimensioning.
• Maintain a productive relationship with direct-reports and lead a positive work environment that promotes excellence, teamwork, and growth
• Manage direct-reports’ timeclock, overtime, and vacation time.
• Comply with all IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 systems to ensure a quality product. Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
• Additional projects assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in measurement systems analysis (MSA)
• Experience in supervising and team-building
• Effective problem-solving skills (Shainin, six-sigma, 8D, 5-Why)
• Basic knowledge of CMM programming and operation
• Technical writing skills
• Effective communication skills
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 environment
• Computer Skills: Minitab, Excel, PowerPoint, MCOSMOS, typing
• Degree a related field or equivalent work experience

Working Conditions

• Monday – Friday
• Travel < 1% average
• Overtime < 4 hours per week average
• 80% manufacturing environment / 20% office environment
• Hands-on troubleshooting on equipment

Benefits

• Non-exempt salary paid 1.5x overtime after 40 hours per week
