Summary:

The Sorter/Auditor is responsible for the safe and smooth operation of the sorting lines in the MRF. Duties will include monitoring sorting and identifying and solving problems that may arise.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Communicate with other employees in the MRF to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage and monitor the sorting of materials on the line.
• Perform periodic audits of inbound material.
• Process and sort materials through a production line which may require standing.
• Fill in any gaps in sorting when necessary.
• Problem solve quickly when issues arise, communicate to supervisors of those issues
• Monitor the functioning of conveyors and communicate to maintenance when malfunctioning
• Identify any hazardous materials and notify proper personnel immediately
• Train new hires on sorting methods, recycling standards, safety, and company policy
• Perform other duties as assigned
