Summary:

The Supplier Quality Engineer I is responsible for ensuring the quality of the products and materials received from our suppliers meets FBD’s high standards. This person will work closely with our suppliers to establish and maintain effective quality management systems and will be responsible for monitoring and improving their performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on the implementation of the quality management system/supplier management system and processes for our suppliers.
• Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with our quality standards and regulatory requirements, investigate issues and work on process improvements.
• Monitor and track the supplier’s performance to address quality non-conformances and drive timely resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment with supplier quality requirements.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality and reduce non-conformances.
• Collaborate on supplier deviation requests.
• Support the Incoming Inspection team on identifying, articulating, and resolving supplier problems related to FAIs, line rejects, and warranty.
• Collaborate on the implementation of the supplier scorecard system and be responsible for the maintenance.
• Support manufacturing operations with any activity related to supplier defects that may impact the continuity of production.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Must have 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and supplier quality processes preferred.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to the manufacturing industry preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Concepts and Basic Quality Tools preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Must have excellent communication skills because of daily contact with internal employees and suppliers.
• Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and a reference check.

Physical Demands:

• Required to sit, type, have eye/hand-foot coordination, occasionally stand, walk, lift, carry, push, and pull.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
• This position works in a typical office, manufacturing, and lab environment.
• Clarity of vision including the ability to appropriately differentiate colors.
• Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
