Department:Stadium Operations
Supervisor:General Manager
Classification:Full-Time/Exempt
As the Director of Stadium Operations, you will assume a visible leadership role within the organization that will help create memories that last a lifetime. The Director of Stadium Operations is responsible for executing key Club priorities including successful execution of all stadium operations and maintenance, driving bottom line performance, elevating customer service and retaining/growing personnel. This position plays an integral part in maintaining and protecting the field as well as the facility, along with the Fayetteville Woodpeckers brand and reputation.
The Director of Stadium Operations is directly responsible for the maintenance and general operations. The strategy and execution of the manner in which this is achieved is to be action-based, creative, focused, organized and responsive.
This individual will work directly with the General Manager to develop and execute the Club's stadium operation plan.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Budget
Create a draft budget and plan for the facility operations department annually. This position is directly responsible for providing a standard operational excellence within the defined annual budget. Specific duties related to the budget include but are not limited to:
  • Meet with the Director of Finance periodically to ensure budgets are maintained.
  • Provide regular reports, short-range and long-range detailing budget forecasting.
  • Provide back-up documentation to budget line items from time to time.
Facility Operations - Maintenance/Supply
Maintain the stadium in manner that insures a fiscally responsible high standard of operational excellence.Develop and log all maintenance preformed on the property.Develop solutions for solving all stadium maintenance issues and making sure work is done within the constraints of the budget. Specific duties related to the facility operations include but are not limited to:
  • Implement and maintain routine maintenance inspections.
  • Maintain and inspect all systems in the stadium including fire alarm, security alarm, elevators, electrical systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, elevators, sprinkler systems and emergency power systems.
  • Coordinate all aspects of stadium cleaning; Develop and execute third-party cleaning contract in manner that achieves standard excellence.
  • Coordinate the fiscally responsible purchases supplying the cleaning company and facility manager with all products necessary to operate the facility. When possible, facilitate deals with vendors to provide product (and associated vendor sponsorships).
  • Ordering product and maintaining inventories on all consumable products.
  • Work with Events Manager to coordinate cleaning, maintenance issue that occur on non-gamedays. In situations of overlap, the Director of Stadium Operations is ultimately responsible for the facility.
Facility Operations - Staff
Recruit, hire, train and supervise designated staff. Ensure that each staff member under your supervision provides the optimal representation of a professional organization and operational excellence skill set. Specific examples include but are not limited to:
  • Conduct regular reviews including annual performance reviews.
  • Hiring game day parking staff and hourly staff.
  • Facilitating all onboarding documentation for PT staff required to assist HR.
  • Scheduling parking game day staff during the season
Facility Operations - External Governing Bodies
Maintain working relationship with external organizations providing oversight or service to the stadium. Relationship with these organizations should be strategic, organized and documented.
  • Serve as main point of contact with Fire Marshal.
  • Act as main point of contact for all emergency responders at the stadium.
  • Develop and maintain safety plans for the facility.
  • Develop and maintain emergency plans for the facility.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Federal, State, City and County codes as relate to the general operation of the facility.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Stadium Operations Manager, or similar role desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a managerial role preferred.
  • Proven project management experience, along with liaising and coordinating with external and internal customers to deliver results professionally, efficiently and within budget restraints.
  • High-school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills, strong work ethic, desire to excel, and willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to direct and lead Stadium Operations personnel and third-party vendors.
Work Environment
Position will work in an office and stadium environment.This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift/move/carry items weighing up to 60 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to lift/move items weighing up to 75 lbs on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to use/operate typical maintenance hand tools and power tools on a regular basis, for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use/operate heavy equipment including by not limited to: scissor lifts, boom lifts, tractors, etc.
  • Ability to work in a hands-on position in all weather extremes for extended periods of time.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required to carry and move packages up to 75 lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Due to the nature of this position, the position requires hours of work and days that include frequent nights, weekends, and holidays. This includes attendance at the vast majority of home baseball games andnon-gameday special events.
Travel
Rare travel may be expected in this role.
