Fayetteville Montessori School is seeking Teacher’s Assistants or Guides to join our faculty for our Summer Program. This is a full-time position for the Summer months located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Elementary Assistant Teacher will be responsible for assisting and supporting Lead Teachers or Guides with educating within the classroom of 5-12 year old's. The ideal candidate will focus on assisting with the development of the whole child and will also have a growth mindset and a passion for Montessori best practices and educational curriculum. The Assistant Guide will have experience in early childcare, the ability and motivation to support a lead teacher, and be dedicated to the intellectual and emotional growth of students in their early years of development.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Lead Teacher with creating a nurturing and educational environment.
• Assist with teaching students the Montessori philosophies.
• Help students learn, develop, and communicate according to Montessori principles.
• Collaborate with other assistants and faculty to develop ways to enhance or improve the educational experience for students.
• Create a positive and educational atmosphere for children.
• Attend and engage in meetings for faculty and staff.
• Ensure the classroom is clean and welcoming to students and parents.
• Must be able to work between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.

Requirements:

• 1 Year Experience in Child Care with Children.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working in a Montessori classroom setting (Preferred)
• Passion for the Montessori philosophy and core values - desire to communicate the mission, principles, and methods with students, parents, and the community
• Ability to utilize technology and related systems efficiently – computer, email, electronic calendar, Microsoft Office Suite, and online applications
• Possess exceptional organization skills, be detailed oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Be an effective communicator and active listener
