The Engineering team supports Favor’s mission to bring fast, fresh delivery to Texans far and wide. The Favor technology platform is the engine behind the business that enables our Runners (that’s what we call Favor delivery drivers) to deliver millions of Favors. Our technology efficiently manages the real-time assignment of Favors, facilitates communication between customers, Runners, and Support team, keeps mobile applications in sync, and more. 

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing Data Science team. This person will design and implement models that have a tangible effect on our products and business. They will work on the full lifecycle of machine learning projects from problem definition and feature exploration to integrating solutions with backend services.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate data assets and explore derivative features for use in models
• Iterate on multiple approaches to determine the best way to solve data science problems
• Develop a robust framework for thoroughly testing models and understanding model effectiveness
• Design and implement models using the best available technology
• Work with data scientists and engineers to serve predictions from models in production environments
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand the problem space and priorities
• Scope and estimate level of effort for data science problems
• Identify potential milestones for data science projects such as feature exploration, a minimum viable model, and deployment

• A master’s degree or PhD in statistics, computer science, data science, economics, mathematics, operations research, or another quantitative field or equivalent
• 5 years of combined experience in machine learning, statistics, data modeling, programming, or applied research in related fields
• Experience with common data science tools such as Pandas, Keras, TensorFlow, etc.
• Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms such as K-NN, SVM, Decision Trees, and ARIMA models
