Favor is Hiring a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting Near Austin, TX

Favor is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting with a deep passion for working at a high-growth company and who thrives in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, energetic person who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to lead the company’s monthly financial close and reporting. We’re looking to add a seasoned accounting professional with deep accounting operational experience and an understanding of transactional eventing and payments processing systems in the tech industry with a Big 4 public accounting background. This role reports to the Director, Accounting and is a hybrid role based in Austin, Texas.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee all aspects of timely and accurate month-end close activities, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) financial statements
  • Lead the Accounting team with daily operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, expense management, and regulatory compliance
  • Guide the Finance team and other business teams on trends and expectations for expense forecasting
  • Oversee application of significant accounting principles, account fluctuation analysis, and maintenance of financial statement files
  • Own our internal financial reporting system (“Click to Cash”) in collaboration with our Payments Engineering team
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering and Product leadership teams on requirements for new products and features
  • Research technical accounting issues for new and proposed management initiatives and new accounting standards, documenting and presenting the company's position
  • Collaborate with our parent company, H-E-B, on intercompany reporting, tax, and compliance
Skills you have:
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting
  • 8 years of progressive experience, including Big 4 public accounting and operational experience 
  • 3 years of management experience, including leadership and development responsibilities 
  • Experience with financial statement analysis and research and application of complex accounting standards in accordance with GAAP and FASB
  • Deep understanding and experience with transactional eventing and payment processing systems
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel and experience using Google Workspace 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting concepts, including researching and applying GAAP for complex concepts
  • A certified public accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with structured query language (SQL) is a plus

  • You are familiar with relational database concepts 
  • You have operational accounting industry experience, such as general ledger maintenance and month-end close review

  • You are a self-starter with the ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment 
  • You have a strong, consistent work ethic with a keen attention to detail and ability to focus on the big picture 
  • You apply feedback and produce a consistent and accurate work product 
  • You can analyze and implement continuous process improvements
  • You are a proactive, confident, and tactful communicator across all levels of the company
