Fava & Maria Eye Associates is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Lebanon, PA

The ophthalmic technician contributes to Fava & Maria Eye Associates’ mission of maintaining our status as the gold-standard in ophthalmic medicine by providing excellent patient care. The ophthalmic technician will perform a wide range of duties to assist our practice’s experienced physicians. The ophthalmic technician will work directly with patients to gather as much information about the patient’s problems or diagnoses. An individual in this position should be detail oriented with strong time management skills.

As an ophthalmic technician, you will develop an advanced understanding of ophthalmic diagnostic screening, testing, and equipment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparing patients for the doctors to examine by gathering pertinent information
  • Assisting the doctors with patient examinations
  • Conducting patient screening and testing
  • Assisting the doctors with procedures
  • Educating patients on their diagnoses and/or treatment plans
  • Conducting various diagnostic tests according to the doctors’ instructions
  • Documenting accurate patient information in the practice’s electronic medical records system

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ophthalmology experience a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with technology and computers
  • Excellent time management and teamwork skills

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 40-hour work week
  • Day shift: Monday through Friday
  • No late nights
  • No weekend hours

COVID-19 Considerations:
Work is performed in a medical practice environment and involves frequent contact with staff and patients. We follow the guidance and recommendations provided by the CDC PA Dept. of Health. Currently, applicants are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
